Carolyn
Ghezzi graduated as a classical ballet major from NC School
of the Arts. At 15, she apprenticed with NC Dance Theater,
now Charlotte Ballet. She studied and performed throughout
Italy with partner Mel Tomlinson of NYC Ballet under Sonya
Tyven and Robert Lindgren (UNCSA Founding Dean of Dance).
She also worked with Marsha Plevin while touring in Italy.
Carolyn studied at ABT and Joffrey Ballet and received scholarships
to SAB under Tutelage of Violette Verdi. She studied and performed
at Pennsylvania Ballet under Benjamin Harkavy and was coached
privately for 7 years by Nolan Dingman of NYC Ballet.
Carolyn directed and produced Ballet Group International,
bringing dancers together from all over the world including
Russia, for a performance/exchange program with partner Adam
Miller of Hartford Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet and Artistic
Director of Cirque Du Soleil. Carolyn choreographed for The
National Opera Company for 5 years under Maestro/director
Don Wilder-Fletcher Foundation. Carolyn has over 25 years
of teaching and choreographing experience in classical ballet,
contemporary, and modern dance. NCDI is thrilled to welcome
this positive and dynamic ballet instructor to our faculty.
