Ballet

Melissa Yarur (formerly Melissa Chase Levin) graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She trained in the Vaganova method under Victor Wesley, Arthur Hutchinson, and Susan Lawrence at the Academy of Dance in Wilmington, Delaware. She has also studied under David Howard at Steps in New York City.

Melissa’s performance experience includes The Nutcracker as the Snow Queen, Dew Drop Fairy, Spanish Chocolate and the Toy Soldier Doll. Other roles include the Princess in Prince Igor, the White Cat in Sleeping Beauty, Bach Concerto and Les Sylphides.

Ms. Melissa will be leading ballet intensives and classes this summer at NCDI, and she will be on faculty for 2008. She is a wonderful addition to our faculty - positive and encouraging!
