Tap and Jazz
Ashley Borromeo began her dance career near Tampa, FL where she would eventually become the co-founder and owner of DancEtc from 2001 to 2009. She danced at the professional and international level with Dublin Worldwide Productions and in NYC with several off Broadway shows. Her formative training started in 1990 with Debbie Cole and spanned from Houston, Chicago, Los Angeles and then to an internship at Broadway Dance Center in NYC. She was the artistic youth facilitator at Dance in Bloom and the competition director at American Academy of Dance in Nashville, TN from 2010 to 2012. In 2010, she founded ACT Dance Productions and hosted 5 conventions throughout Florida. In 2015, she became certified with Rhythm Works Integrative Dance and started the non-profit Dance, Art, and Rhythm Kinections to share her love of dance with those with learning differences.
Ashley took a slight detour from the dance world in 2012 when she became a mother. Her son and daughter both have tap shoes! Ashley has stayed engaged in the dance world choreographing cutting edge competition dances for Renner Dance Company and local dancers in the triangle. As a teacher she continues her training through online organizations, teacher workshops, and networking with her peers in the industry. Ashley enjoys teaching dance to all ages and strives to provide students with a place to grow, have fun, and enrich their lives through dance. Ashley is honored to be a part of the learning happening at North Carolina Dance Institute.
