Emily Pinell (Ms. Emi)

Emily earned a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Performance and Choreography at Brigham Young University-Idaho. While pursuing her degree, Emily taught creative movement classes/technique classes and traveled as a dance intensive guest teacher. She has been teaching dance and creative movement for the past six years. Emily began her teaching career in high school as a teaching assistant in the dance program at Powell Elementary Magnet. Following graduation, Emily taught ballet, jazz and beginner tap at Motion Dance in Idaho. As a new mother, she returned to North Carolina in 2021.
Emily actively teaches private lessons in competitive dance and creative movement classes for young children. Emily's love of teaching was passed down to her from her grandmother, Gail Conger, who taught classical ballet for over 50 years. Emily shares her grandmother's love for ballet and has a deep passion for modern dance and creative movement. Emily is passionate about enriching children's creative vision and love for learning. An explorer of all forms of movement, she a certified in yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance's, Yoga Unlimited. She has a strong background in contemporary, jazz, tap, and Pilates. Emily is excited to step in to teach children's classes at NCDI.
