Ballet

Originally from North Carolina, Lauren received her high school diploma in ballet from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. She spent several summers training at Pennsylvania Ballet (now the Rock School), Chautauqua Institute, and Hungarian National Ballet Academy in Budapest, Hungary. She received a Bachelor's from S.U.N.Y Purchase, with a concentration in ballet.

Lauren has danced professionally with the Granite State Ballet and Ballet Metropolitan in Caracas, Venezuela. She danced in several television and film productions of Dawson's Creek, House, and was the featured dancer in Christina Aguilera's music video Fighter.

Lauren has taught at Wilmington School of Ballet, where she was also the artistic director of The Young Dancers of Wilmington. Lauren and her husband relocated to Los Angeles, where she taught ballet at Vergari Dance Center, Burbank School of Ballet, and Performing Arts Center of Van Nuys. In Los Angeles, she studied with the Pilates Sports Center and became a certified Pilates instructor.

Lauren lives in Raleigh with her husband Scott (UNCSA Graduate) and their daughter, Isabelle, who is an aspiring ballerina. NC Dance Institute is so excited to welcome Lauren to the NC Dance Institute faculty.
